Maybelline ColorSensational Lipsticks: Definitely one of the best things after sliced bread! The formula is just too awesome for words. It’s creamy, opaque and the color pay off is amazing. What’s more amazing about it is that even after a good meal, you would still see the pretty lipstick color on your lips. It kind of fades of course but for a cheap drugstore (299php) product, the consistency is very much okay.

Pro’s:
- The packaging is very pretty. It makes the lipstick look kinda more expensive than it really is.
- Long lasting.
- So many shades to choose from.

Con’s:
- Some has annoying smell like Nearly There (it’s a good shade, though!)
- Not really moisturizing (despite the creamy formula!) but not really drying either.

Favorite Shades:

Quick Tips on Makeups

Applying makeup may be just easy to some especially if you’ve been doing that for a very long time. But for those who are new to this whole thing, here are a few tips:

Concealer:
- Concealer should always be applied before foundation.
- Use a concealer one shade lighter than your skin tone. When it comes to the dark circles under you eyes, avoid using a very light shade.
- You may use an eyeshadow brush to blend the concealer finely into your skin.
- Do not use too much so you can really make sure that there’s no sign of the concealer in your face to keep the natural look.

Foundation:
- Apply foundation with your hand or a sponge.
- As much as possible, try not to put too muh to avoid a mask-look.
- When putting foundation on your eyelids, side of the nose and outside the nostrils, Set it with powder immediately to avoid creasing.

Powder:
You can use translucent powder but it’s best to used colored formulation for better coverage.
- Make sure that the color matches the foundation.
- It’s better to apply powder in downward strokes so that all areas will be well blended.

Blush:
- If you want natural flush, go for subtle neautrals.
- For a sun kissed glow, go for a bronze shade.
- Always use a big brush when you apply blush because smaller brushes would make your blush appear painted on.
- Blend the blush in circular movements over your apples.
- Never pair a loud colored blush with a loud colored lipstick.

Lipstick:
- Choose the best lipstick color. For fair complexion, go for pinks, pinkish reds and natural/nude. For tanned complexion, you’ll loke best with plums, darker pinks, and those that are shimmery. For dark complexion, avoid nude and go for rich plums, reds and mettalic shades.
- Start off my putting concealer over your lips and set it with a pressed powder. (Yes!)
- For matte lipstick, it’s best if you coat it with lipgloss so your lips won’t look dry.

Cosmetics may not be really necessary to some but to most girls, especially college girls, consider make ups as essentials. So here’s a list of the five things that girls must stuff in the make up bags they bring with them all the time. ;)

Powder. When you get oily because of the activities you’ve done, you need to touch up a little.
Tip: Use brush to apply powder instead of sponge. And always put on powder over your make up (especially foundation) because it would make the make up look more subtle.

Blush. You don’t want to look pale and dead when you see your crush around, right?
Tip: Choose the shade that flatters your skintone. And apply it in a way that it will flatter the shape of your face. For example, if you have an oval-shaped face, simply apply blush onto the apples of your cheeks. For square face, put blush on the apples of the cheeks, then sweep the blush towards your temples. Also, dust some blush from your chin to just below your ears.

Lipstick. You’ll go a very long way if you put lipstick on. It gives your face a little “pop”.
Tip: If you use nude lipstick, put a concealer under it. It will look more natural and it will last longer.

Lipgloss. You can either wear this alone of use it as a top coat of your lipstick. A little gloss on your lips makes a big difference.
Tip: If you have thick lips, go for lighter shades of lipgloss. For thin lips, shiny pinks and reds will make your lips look full.

Eyeliner. Even without eyeshadow, your eyes will look more alive with this.
Tip: Liquid eyeliner should only be used above the top lashes. It is best to use a pencil or eyeshadow under the lower lashes.

Of course you can bring other stuff, too. But these are the ones that I recommend you to always bring with you. Foundations, concealers, mascarras and the like are some of the make ups that you only need to apply before you go. Putting too much of those would make your face look cakey. As for mascarra, applying it more than twice a day would just make your lashes look chunky and unpretty.

Mac powder blush

A very pretty Mac powder blush with a sheertone shimmer formula. It’s just a light pink (lighter in real life). For a sheer blush, it surprisingly shows up very nicely on your cheeks. What makes it a lot prettier is that it appears as a natural pink blush on your face.

Pro’s:
- Looks natural.
- You can actually get a nice amount of product in that compact.
- Pretty pigmented for a sheer blush.

Con’s:
- Doesn’t really last long.
- Too glittery for me. It gives a nice glow to my face, though. But I just wish it was matte.

It costs around $18. I’m not sure how much it is exactly in the Mac counters here in the Philippines but based on the current dollar-rate exchange, it’s roughly around 850php. Not really bad, right? :)

I’ve been using Myra VitaGlow Tinted Moisturizer in Beige for days. It’s the best moisturizer I have ever tried. I have oily skin so I kind of do not need lots of moisturizing products but this product works like magic. Since it’s tinted, I use it as my foundation (because I do not really like wearing real foundation.). At first, I thought it would look cakey but it doesn’t. It evens out my skin tone and at the same time, reduces the oiliness in my nose. It also gives me a nice coverage.

Pro’s:
- It’s cheap. By cheap, I meant less than 150php! Great, I know.
- It has SPF 15.
- It doesn’t make your face look cakey at all.
- I’m not sure if one of its job is to make the make up you put over it last longer but it does. I wear my Mac Studio Fix over it and it stays longer that it usually does.
- It has an amazing coverage.

Con’s:
- Small variety of shades, only Beige and Ivory are available.
- … and I think that’s it.

More uses:
- If you’re not into foundation, you might want to try this out.
- You can also use it as a primer. Apply this first on your face to even out your skin tone and then, put on foundation for more coverage if you still need it. And then wear your favorite powder.

Bronze and Mauve

Currently obsessing over this cheap Avon find. It’s an Ultra Moisture Rich lipstick in Berry Mauvy. I’ve been using this and it’s very pretty. I pair it with my Fanny Serrano blush in Cinnamon stick which is also a cheap drugstore product. The lipstick can be worn with a regular pink blusher but I guess bronze and mauve make a good pair. :)

What I like about these products:
a) Lasts long. Especially the lipstick. (it’s not pink in person, btw.)
b) Cheap. Very cheap for that kind of finish.

Images are as crappy as ever. Sorry. That’s one of the reasons why I can’t put up a decent beauty blog.

How I store my make up.

This is where I place my unused make ups. It’s a can-like chocolate box from Singapore. Pretty, right? :)

These are the few stuff I store in there. A Mac Studio Fix in NC40, Mac Pro-Preferred White with SPF15 Foundation, Mac Powder Blush, Fanny Serano Blusher in Cinnamon Stick, Black Mac Liquid Eyeliner, Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush Mascarra in brown and a Lip Crayon in bronze from Beauty Bar. I have few other stuff which are supposed to be included here but they can’t fit anymore and they have been used for a few times. The stuff here are all unused.

The Mac Studio Fix is a back up. I am already using one like that. Same goes to the FS Blusher. The Mac Pro-preferred White is something I have yet to try. Mac Powder Blush and Eyeliner, VS Mascarra are to be used soon as well. As for the Lip Crayon, that’s my second stick which I plan to give to whoever. I lost my first stick but I wasn’t bothered at all because I don’t really like the texture.

Removed from their boxes.

The make ups I am using go in two different pouches. The VS make up pouch for the stuff I bring with me and a lavender pouch I leave at home but use before I go out. :)

Sudden obsession, not really good.

Hey guys. Yes, I haven’t been updating this blog much again. I want to turn this into a beauty blog but all the stuff I know about the subject are basic and are most probably the things you already know. Also, turning this into a beauty blog would mean that I have to purchase products to review or tell you guys about but that’s so not me. I hate buying stuff just to try it out and then be disappointed when it doesn’t give me the result I want. And also, I’m trying to impose this “no more shopping for a month” thing to myself. That means, I will not spend money on make ups and clothes on August as much as I did since April. I have spent way too much on make ups especially this month. I used to be contented with drugstore and Victoria’s Secret goodies but suddenly, I started buying Mac products which are pretty expensive considering that I am still a student and that I use my allowance to satisfy my sudden obsession.

On a make-up related note, last week, I purchased a few Mac items, Wet and Wild bronzer, Avon lipstick and Fanny Serano blusher which I am absolutely loving right now. I will post the photos soon because I don’t have my camera with me at the moment. :)

And yeah, I guess that’s it for now. ;)

P.S.
I’ve been eyeing on this Kabuki brush online but I will NOT get it. I swear I won’t. I would just probably settle on the Marionnaud brush that I already have and buy more since it isn’t really that expensive. And yes, that would be my last purchase. :)
